About RxByState

Built because tracking pharmacy law across 50 states shouldn't be a part-time job

The United States has 50 state boards of pharmacy, each with its own website, its own publication schedule, and its own format for rules and CE requirements. For pharmacists practicing in more than one state — telepharmacists, locum tenens pharmacists, staffing agency pharmacists — keeping up with all of it was genuinely hard.

RxByState exists to solve that. We built a platform that tracks pharmacy law requirements, CE mandates, renewal windows, regulatory alerts, and rule changes across all 50 states — and keeps them current as rules change.

We're not a law firm. We're not a clinical tool. We're a research and compliance tracking platform — the kind of thing that should have existed years ago.

What RxByState is — and isn't

RxByState is
  • A regulatory data platform tracking pharmacy law across all 50 states
  • A CE requirement tracker — hours, mandatory topics, renewal cycles
  • An alert system for pharmacy law and rule changes
  • A license renewal tracker with compliance checklists
  • A board contact directory for all 50 state boards
RxByState is not
  • Legal advice — we do not interpret laws or advise on compliance strategy
  • Clinical decision support — no medication guidance, dosing, or prescribing
  • A drug database, formulary, or medication recommendation engine
  • A substitute for verifying with your state board directly
  • A replacement for your professional judgment — use it as a research tool, not a compliance shortcut

How our data works

Every piece of data in RxByState comes from official sources — state board websites, official publications, NABP, DEA Federal Register filings, and direct verification. We do not rely on third-party aggregators or unofficial sources.

Source
Official sources only

State board websites, official state publications, NABP notices, DEA Federal Register filings. No unofficial aggregators.

Review
Human reviewed

Every alert and requirement change is reviewed by the RxByState research team before it reaches subscribers. No automated publication.

Freshness
Verification dates shown

Every data point shows when it was last verified. Data is reviewed semi-annually and updated when rules change — not on an annual schedule.
